Mullingar Golf Club
During Mullingar Golf Club’s first forty years the club moved ‘house’ on no less than five occasions. In 1935 the club finally settled on the magnificent rolling hills at Belvedere where it has been ever since.
It is regarded as one of the best of James Braid’s finest 18 hole designs. The Mullingar Scratch Trophy has featured in the lives of most of the current crop of Irish Tour players. Clarke won here in 1989, McGinley in 1991, Harrington in 1994, and Murphy in 1995.
The course runs to 6685 yards with a classic par 72 balance of 10 par4′s, 4 par 5′s and 4 par3′s evenly distributed over both out and inward 9′s. It’s routing is player friendly, returning to the club house at 4, 7, and 10 giving opportunities to restock as required.
